about

A cassette EP released by Copenhagen label Skrot Up in 2010, a self conscious attempt to do more complex writing and bring in some horror/sci-fi soundtrack influence (The Road) with almost dance material (A Railsong/Revenge). When I Drank the Wine also appeared on an ATL bands compilation called WE NO FUN, albeit in a different version/mix. Much of the writing is still live in the studio, with the Roland Alpha Juno doing most of the heavy lifting here.

The description from the time:
As the terraforming of exoplanets is slowly becoming a reality, High Marks offers an insight into underground life as it will certainly look like in deep space: dark, bizarre, and depressingly cold. Beats bounce off outer space static while extra-galactic synths cut through the 8-bit haze, and soon you will find yourself trying to build your own spaceship made of concrete, steel and glass to reach Eli Marx's terrifying promised land.

One of the few times I let someone else do the art in those years (Skrot Up did the cool creepy layout), but I'm glad in hindsight I did.
